Reviewed from (long-standing) notes. Had on-tap at Cigar City Brewpub. Served in a fluted snifter.
A: Hazy gold, with average visible carbonation and a finger's worth of white head with short retention.
S: Tropical fruit, citrus rind and melon hops over biscuity malts with mild husk character.
T: Again, tropical and citrus fruit with and lesser amounts of resin and grassy hop character. The malt body is less grainy-tasting than the nose suggested and largely gets out of the way of the hop flavors...maybe a mild added sweetness. Some restrained bitter citrus rind in the hang.
M: Light body, good carbonation sensation, low alcohol presence.
O: Nothing much to complain about, although nothing particularly special about this pale ale. Solidly middle of the road.
