I had this beer at the Cigar City Brewery which I visited recently. This was among the most outstanding Imperial Stouts that I’ve ever had. The sweet raspberry with chocolate was like liquid dessert but the cognac flavor made it perfect. It was simply incredible.
Look: very dark brown almost black with a two-inch bubbly mocca colored head.
Aroma: The aroma was raspberry, chocolate as well as some cognac
Taste: The taste was sweet chocolate and raspberry, cognac, some coffee, vanilla, lots of raspberry. Overall the flavors come together very nicely resulting in an incredible flavor. I had the regular Raspberry Halo Imperial Stout as well but this one took the cake.
Feel: Full body, smooth/creamy, and the alcohol does not come through badly.
