Slick shiny black with brown edges. Unfortunately there was no head on my draft pour at the taproom.
Smell is soft, round roasted coffee beans with milk chocolate and a deep Nut Brown character.
Huna comes out in taste with that formidable roasted dark malt and charred chili pepper, but dry, semi-bitter coffee and baker's cocoa do take over as it finishes chalky dry. I'm not mad at it though.

On draft at the brewery after the festival. Pours opaque black with a dark khaki ring of head around the edge of the glass. The nose on this beer is absolutely divine. Strong coffee aroma with little hints of vanilla and chili peppers and some chocolate on the very back end. All tied together by an undercurrent of pleasant roasted notes. Taste is predominated by coffee just like the nose. It tastes like a very complex coffee stout with some subtle chocolate notes. Chilli pepper is there as well, but the cinnamon is kind of lost. It feels thick and almost chewy like all cigar city stouts. They get the mouthfeel right. Overall this was a top five beer had at the festival and I was very happy they still had some the next day. Truly a special beer. That coffee takes it to another level.
