Cigar City Myakka
12oz into a snifter
on tap at the brewery
Consumed (and review written) Oct 2017
A: Jet black, almost no head just an outer ring of tan lacing, some lacing. 4
S: Aroma is pretty mild. Some roasty notes, fairly big dark fruits, some oatmeal notes. 4
T: Taste is quite sweet. It's really tasty. Lots of sugary sweetness, some roasty notes to balance. Definitely not very complex, a sweet bomb, but I liked it a lot. 4.25
M/D: Full body, carbonation on the lower end but appropriate, somewhat syrupy, ABV very well masked, drinkability somewhat limited secondary to the sweetness which is close to cloying. 3.75
O: Overall a nice beer, nothing crazy but enjoyable if you enjoy sweet beers. 4

Deepest, darkest brown with a soft mocha head. Oily. Silky. Decadently sweet and toasty in the nose. Well balanced between espresso, dark chocolate, dark fruit, and dark wood, in the tongue, with a some powerful soy sauce notes. Just the right amount of sweetness. Velvety, sticky, and chewy. Wonderful beer.
