12 oz can w/o canning date or other freshness indication.
Medium hazed pour, loose bubble cap and leaving some low stringy lacing.
Sour berries on the sniff.
Tart fruit, moderate tropical fruity hop punch...complex, refreshing and enjoyable stuff....worth a try and all for a good cause.

Cigar City Brewing "Rising Hope"
12 fl. oz. can; ink-jet production date is illegible
$2.59 @ ABC Fine Wine & Spirits #139, Wildwood, FL
Look: Cloudy orange body with visible sediment in suspension beneath a short lived head of white.
Smell: Citrusy, floral,
Taste: Citrusy with orange and grapefruit, some white grape (gooseberry), and some citrus pith. A very firm bitterness balances it and brings it to a dry conclusion.
Feel: Medium bodied and gently crisp.
Overall: I know that hazy beers are in but the appearance hurts this one. Otherwise it's a fairly basic citrusy IPA despite the addition of gooseberry and grapefruit.

Collab with Brew bus brewing. This doesn't have a very pleasant nose, the goose berry scent is a bit soured and mild notes of vinegar are apparent on the nose. The mouthfeel is slick with a peppery burn and lingerie. Gpith from the grapefruit. Dryness increase on the finish as well the more you drink. Not very enjoyable.

I have not had gooseberries before, so I don't know what it taste like but I am getting the grapefruit juice. It's tarty & a little sour. This is a sipper for me because it is a bitter one. I am not a big fan of grapefruit IPAs but this is for a good cause. a good amount of sediment in the bottom of the pint glass. Well at least I can now say that I have had a beer with gooseberries in it. Cheers! B-
