Poured an almost mud-colored brown with decent head and lace down the glass. Slightly boozy aroma with some spice and a touch of maltiness. Slightly boozy in a medium and sticky body that has notes of wood, banana, clove, a smidge of dark fruit like raisins and some caramel or toffee, but really other than caramel/toffee sweetness on finish I just get fruits (mostly bananas) and some spicy booze.

Decent head production and retention. Body is a lovely, deep nutty brown hue.
Nose features bourbon up front, followed immediately by nutty, rich caramel tones swimming in dark fruit notes. Prune, raisin, date; brown sugar, toffee; vanilla, oak, pumpernickel, rye, all spice; fruit bread, banana.
Very sweet on the palate, with the heavy malt load associated with the style (and ABV) blending with the bourbon mash in a sweet but very smooth overall package. Tons of fruit bread, vanilla, and dark fruit, closely matching the nose. A touch of pepper and rye on the back third, where the bourbon heat really starts to kick in. Delicious and delectable.
Full bodied, silky, creamy. Easy to drink despite the high ABV.

Bonus El Cat 500ML bottle. My only BA Weizenbock – that I recall – was from Town Hall. Hope springs eternal.
Comes out of the gate a slurry reddish. The nose is bourbon, sweet dark bread, brown sugar, ginger. I’m pretty sure the ginger is my imagination.
Tannhauser Gate – I might have to watch that movie again – 13 year old me wasn’t impressed. This tastes like plums soaked in bourbon, with a dusting of brown sugar, pumpernickel bread, wood. Easy to drink. This could be dangerous.
A solid attempt, but this is a no-damage rear-ender on the gawker scale. Good beer.

Insanely good!
Hard to find the weisenbock style in the depths of rich smooth maltyness. Strong and smooth, could lead to a dangerous session.
