16.9oz bottle poured into a snifter. Bottling date of 08/27/19 etched on the neck of the bottle. This is a Brandy Barrel-aged Porter and Brandy Barrel-aged Imperial Stout Blend with Cherries and Vanilla. Sounds delicious!
Pours a dark brownish almost pitch black color with thin tan colored head quickly turning into a ring of lace around the glass. On first whiff, tons of barrel, a good amount of vanilla, oak and booze. The taste again features a lot of character and warmth coming from the barrels. The tart cherries are a stand out with a nice sweet and roasty underbelly. There is a lot of heat and warmth from the ABV. I only purchased one bottle so I’m not sure if I’ll get to see how it ages in the bottle. The mouthfeel is moderately carbonated, smooth and velvety. Overall, this beer features a lot of complextity from the blend of beers and barrels but everything meshes very well. Great beer!
