Pours black with a big frothy khaki tan head that very slowly recedes, lacing nicely on the way.

Initial aroma is some great hoppiness, very fresh and herbaceous, like smelling some fresh cones, just an extremely green hoppiness that makes you salivate. Aroma is fairly complex and also shows some roastiness, coffee and smoke, dry nuttiness, some chocolate, and some cola. Crazy aroma for how light the listed abv is, a lot of aromas going on.

Taste follows with some of that nice green hoppiness up front, quickly followed by a strong roasted quality, some earthy and nutty flavors drift in, before the green hops return and blend with the roastiness and a hint of sweet cola in the finish.

Mouthfeel is fairly light in body, though very hoppy in aroma and flavor it is fairly soft and not extremely bitter, some bitterness does creep in and mixes with the roastiness in a drying finish.

Very delicious and highly drinkable beer, I could easily kill this very cool little growler it came in and just may do so yet. I am impressed by the nice mixture of the green herbaceous hoppiness with the roast and chocolate malts, but even more so if the stated abv is even close as there is a ton of complexity in this beer, definitely would be at the top of the list for a session beer for me. Big thanks to Jay for the opportunity.

Thanks Joey for the sample. This one was made from second runnings of 110k Batch 2 IRIS. It has all the flavor of a RIS with an ABV of 3.5%.... Crazy!!!!

A: Pours black, black, black. Huge mocha head with insane retention and sheet after sheet of lace.

S: Huge charred malt aroma with lots of ash and earth. Beneath the char lays a nice subtle sweet chocolate note with some chickory coffee.

T: Out of this world good, great I would say. For a beer at such an ABV you can not even begin to imagine the flavor of this one. TONS of roast, hints of campfire and bitter chocolate. Light coffee notes with a huge bitter finish.... Hops hell yeah this one has them and they shine.

M: On the lighter side of medium, bold hoppy dry finish.

D: Off the charts the ABV allows this one to be pounded and the taste makes you want to. It is funny that this beer was a result of something that would have otherwise been poured down the drain. Wayne makes such kick ass stouts that the waste from them can be turned into this!

These beers are not better than the CCB stouts, I rate them so high for what they are. Tasty as hell beers with an insanely low ABV. It is a beer lovers dream.
