Beautiful beer, with a small head but decent retention for the ABV.
Nose is quite strong and boozy, with a ton of bourbon sharply presenting. Aromatic tones from the malt include chocolate, molasses, brown sugar, and vanilla. As simple overall as that may sound, it comes across beautifully, and is incredibly inviting.
Flavor isn't in any way a let down, and feel is, if anything, even better. It lets you know this is a big beer, but is remarkably easy to sip, savor, and enjoy. The malt base is rich and dark, ranging from espresso to semi-sweet chocolate, and the vanilla is an excellent accent. The bourbon plays wonderfully.
This is better than I could have possibly expected. Absolutely blown away.
