A: Opaque black, very dark mocha colored head that’s a bit fizzy and dissipates down quickly. No lacing. 4.25
S: Aroma is sweet and boozy, pistachio is quite prominent and very nice, coconut
present but more subtle. Barrel notes present with charred wood and nutty bourbon character. Fantastic nose. 4.75
T: Taste follows, wonderful combo of sweetness, booze and roastiness. It’s very BCBS-esque in its trifecta of flavors profile. I don’t get nearly as much pistachio on the taste; but I get more coconut (although still not particularly strong). Very sweet but the other balancing characters keep it from being cloying, Nice and strong bourbon barrel notes. 4.5
M/D: Full bodied, a touch syrupy but not bad. Im not sure what the ABV is, I suspect it’s high; it’s noticeable but is actually welcomed and adds to the balance. It’s not as thick or chewy as some of the CCB stouts but since i’m drinking this solo that is actually welcomed. 4.25
O: This is a phenomenal beer. Well done CCB. 4.5
