Pours very murky, cola colored, small tan head that dissipates pretty quickly. Really does look like a Coke with somewhat better head retention. Aroma is actually cherry cola like too, very much so actually. It’s the aforementioned cherries, a bit of spice perhaps coriander, some chocolate. As the nose acclimates you those characters I think get some nice port wine notes, a plethora of dark fruits and berries, a bit of booze. Some more subtle candied sugar and caramel. Really a terrific nose. Taste is cherry and raspberry up front, in the middle, and on the finish. I kid, but not really. Berry bomb. Not a ton else going on honestly, subtle semi sweet cocoa, a mild nondescript bitterness, some oaky notes on the finish perhaps if you’re really stretching. Mouthfeel is fuller bodied, appropriate carbonation, incredibly well masked ABV and good drinkability. Overall, this is pleasant and quite drinkable but really lacks any depth or complexity. I will be sitting on my other bottle for at least a year or two (probably more) to see how this develops as the berry adjuncts fade over time.
