This has a look of molasses with far less head than is typical of Huna, really displaying as nothing much but an oily surface.
That spicy Huna character reveals itself right away, while mezcal slowly creeps in to add a very subtle smoke, and really just barely, actually imparting more botanical qualities on the nose instead, while the rum seems to help contribute to a very dry and chewy finish.
Variant or otherwise, this is my first Hunahpu's at a beer fest since 2019!!!!

Exiting the El Cat Club this year hurt a bit, but the beers really haven’t been consistent the past year or two. This? Hoping it Huna’s it right outta the park in a 500ML bottle.
Black. The nose is all chiles.
Cosmos Redshift 7 bites like a rabid beaver; I can feel the heartburn brewing after one sip. Warm summer chiles assault the palate from uvula to rectum, burning gently & kicking several other tastes off the island.
This is like Huna on hot steroids. I love Huna. We’ve been to Huna Days multiple times over the past decade & this is a brutal corruption laced with icy hots. Disappointing.
