Reviewed from notes taken on 4-3-11. Generously hooked up from BastionShaw. Thank you sir.

Poured from propane cylinder style growler to my Darkness snifter. I was told this was an 09 if I'm not mistaken. A very dark brown with a one finger tan head.

Ohhh boy. Smells sweet like candy. Caramel, vanilla and chocolate waft from the glass. Pretty thin in the mouth but that doesn't take away from much. The carbonation is low too but that too is fine. This beer is syrup sweet and sticky. If you spilled it, it would dry like soda pop. Taste is pretty killer if you can handle the cotton candy type sweetness. Caramel, vanilla, chocolate, and of course pecans.

I rather enjoyed this. A nice change of pace. Not something you could drink everyday by any means. Some of the fellas in the SundaySuperFriends were not a fan of the sweetness. But that is why everyone gets an opinion. And mine is definitely search it out if you have a sweetooth.

Enjoyed on-tap at the brewery.

A- Poured into a Cigar City snifter. Pours a dark brown color.

S- The aroma is a lot of sweet malt with some vanilla notes and some alcohol coming through in the nose as well. At first I didn't get much of the pecans in the nose but as the beer warmed in the glass they became more and more pronounced.

T- The taste is a lot sweeter than expected. A lot of sweet malts and caramel with some vanilla flavors dominate the taste with a warming finish from the alcohol. Tasty beer but I would like it even more if the sweetness was turned down a little and the hops were kicked up a little more to balance things out.

M- Medium bodied with a perfect amount of carbonation.

D- The sweetness and high ABV make this one an after dinner sipper for sure but it is another interesting brew from CCB. The sweetness can be a bit much at times, but it is a real interesting beer especially when drinking side by side with the regular Winter Warmer.
