A - Pours brown-black, opaque, with not so much head or lace. Looks tidy.
S - Pleasant and lightly complex nose of Bergamot and Patio Tools (CCB Dry Stout) sans roast peat. As I get deeper into it, I am really getting a lot of chai nuances. The traditional style nuances have certainly been eschewed, but it is not without merit in this case.
T - Tastes very nice, with black tea notes tempering the peat flavor out of the Patio Tools base, resulting in a brew that is far more refreshing than Stout would normally be. The spice is not too heavy in the flavor, but it does significantly change the dynamic of the brew. Again, as I get deeper into it, chai tea is evoked (mildly).
M - Good feel, but perhaps a drop off from the base beer. It is a little thin.
O - I really enjoy this beer. It is a bit off-beat, but it is quite refreshing and comes together much more successfully than the tea-stout description might suggest.
