Big thanks goes out to my boy mikesgroove for sharing this one as part of his 4000th review get-together! Congrats on that milestone buddy! Served from growler into a Bell's stemmed tulip. Poured golden yellow with a one finger pure white head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained decent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, bread, plantains, and spices. The flavor was of sweet malt, plantains, subtle spices, and bread. It had a light feel on the palate with mild carbonation. Overall this was a pretty good brew. I found this one to be pretty interesting to say the least. The plantains definitely showed through on this brew and mixed quite nicely with the other flavors and aromas going on here. The bread note was a pretty nice touch as well and went quite well with the sweet aspects in this one. Really glad I got the chance to give this one a try and be a part of my friend mikesgroove's milestone review. Cheers my friend!

Review from notes at Cigar City's taproom on 9/9/11 for Firkin Friday.
Draft poured into a CCB pint glass.
Appearance: Poured a light gold with a 1/2 finger white fluffy head. Decent lacing.
Smell: Wheat and sweet banana.
Taste: Banana and sweet citrus up front followed by sweet wheat in the middle before ending with cooked plantains.
Mouthfeel: Light-to-medium-bodied with a nice amount of carbonation.
Drinkability: Good drinkability. Goes down smooth.
Overall: Very good beer overall. I'd definitely recommend giving this one a shot.

split the growler with calton outside for review number 4000, had to do it the way my life works, with manic kids and all. cheers buddy
pours out a very cloudy bright yellowish amber with a nice and tight head of white on top that has some legs has it hangs around for a while. lots of banana notes and hints of light clove in the aroma, very light and smooth and perfect on this hot day. once you take a sip it was more of the same with a light, smooth, mellow just downright easy drinking light saison. no bite, no crazy flavors, just downright good. clean finish with again bananas and a light hit of spice. great beer
