Imperial Porter aged in Bourbon Barrels. Outskirts presents itself on the nose with aromas of star anise
and the unmistakable vanilla-wood-alcohol punch of the bourbon barrels in which it was aged. Notes of
semi-sweet chocolate, treacle and a trace of dried blackberry flavors combine with vanilla and leather on the palate to deftly hide its 13.8% alcohol content. Viscous but never cloying, soft wood tannins and alcohol spiciness balance Outskirts'
formidable body.

Pours black with a slow rising dark tan head that lingers as ring around the glass, but no lacing to be found (as expected in an 13.8% ABV beer). Absolutely gorgeous.
The nose is led by the vanilla and oak from the bourbon barrel, and there’s also rich dark chocolate and some licorice that actually works really well.
The taste is an amalgamation of flavors, from decadent dark chocolate to vanilla and oak to licorice to a nice warming at the back of the palate from the barrel - and the star of it all is the blackberry flavor mixed into the middle of this massive beer. Outstanding.
The mouthfeel is rich and creamy, fitting the beer perfectly. This is world class stuff, IMHO.
