On tap at Hops and Pie during GABF week
Pours an extreme red with little head. The appearance is really cool. Too bad it was the best part.
Smell is really strong on the sweet. There is very little saison present. Maybe a little hint of funk as it warms. The nose is too artificial. Reminds me of raspberry candy or pop.
Taste is much the same as the nose. Too sweet with nothing to balance it out. I was hoping for the raspberry to compliment the saison. Instead it comes of as just a generic raspberry beer.
Mouthfeel is rough. My teeth felt coated with sugar.
Overall a disappointment. I was excited to try a raspberry saison but need more saison.

Draft at Cigar City during Hunahpu Day 2012.
Pours a bright blood red color with a half finger pink head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Sporadic streaks of lace left behind.
Huge raspberry aroma thats bursting with a ton of organic fruit sweetness along with some subtle funk. One of the most fruit forward smelling beers I've come across. Unfortunately, this makes it a bit one dimensional. Smells good but could use more saison character.
Medium bodied with subtle tart funk followed by raspberry sweetness. Nice juicy raspberry sweetness without becoming cloying or overbearing Nice balance of tart, sweet fruit and funky saison yeast with a dry finish.
