Review from notes taken at Cigar City Brewing taproom on 7/15/12. Poured on draft into a Cigar City shaker pint glass.
Appearance: Pours a hazy medium honey gold with a 1/2 finger snow white head. Nice lacing.
Smell: Cedar and white pepper with a touch of bitter hops.
Taste: Lots of white pepper with cedar notes, a touch of lemon and a mild amount of traditional American pale ale hoppiness. Aftertaste is woody and slightly bitter. Very well-balanced.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with a good amount of carbonation.
Drinkability: Good drinkability. You could knock back a few without much difficulty.
Overall: Very good beer overall. I'm a fan of Cigar City's Humidor Series and this one does not disappoint. It's a nice change of pace compared to the regular Riverwalk Pale Ale which is very good. Definitely worth a shot.
