750 mL bottle poured into a snifter at Bern's.

Appearance - Deep brown. No head when they pour it. Leggy on the swirl. Just a few bubbles on the surface.

Smell - Nice caramel and vanilla from the barrel. Bourbon and rich brown sugar. A little bit of fruitiness.

Taste - Bourbon flavor up front. Caramel and brown sugar. Not very sweet. Bitter flavor behind it. A little harsh on the back end.

Mouthfeel - A little bit of the base beer's astringency comes through. Medium carbonation. Overly bitter.

Overall - Glad I had it, but nothing compared to Cognac Church on a Hill. The bourbon barrel isn't quite enough to call this beer great.

Went to berns steak house on vacation. Incredible place, excellent meal.

A- nice deep brown, fluffy head, good lacing.

S- sweet bourbon, vanilla, caramel, brown sugar.

T- very bourbon forward, caramel and brown sugar with hints of vanilla. Bourbon is a bit harsh still very good

M- medium body and carbonation

O- a great barrel aged barley wine. Doesn't quite compare too cognac church on a hill or Leon.

A dark, dark brown, almost port dark. Fluffy and foamy coke colored head. Nice lacing. Looks great.

S big bourbon, dark ripe fruits, caramel, dates, figs, vanilla, brown sugar, lots of barrel

T bourbon forward, dates and figs, vanilla, caramel, plum, raisins, butterscotch, light nuttiness, light green apple, oak,

M smooth, velvety, soft, bold

O insanely good. Its wonderful now, I can only imagine how good it will be with a few years on it! It's as good as Leon.
