32 oz. growler poured into a snifter.
Appearance - Murky reddish brown. Not much of a head, but some white foam. Thin collar.
Smell - Heavily spiced. Cinnamon. Vanilla. The banana comes from a phenolic character.
Taste - Cinnamon is really strong. Malty caramel. Vanilla and a variety of spices. I don't get much banana here, if at all.
Mouthfeel - Heavy. Maybe even boozy. Medium low carbonation.
Overall - Spice dominates. It's not a subtle or well integrated beer, but nothing gross going on.

Glowing mahogany to an almost scarlet coloring it yielded a thin fizzy head.
The aroma was nice but misdirecting as I caught more pumpkin, barley and roast and no banana, cream or pie.
The flavors were sort of amberish with caramel malt and barley. I also get pumpkin spice, earthy gourd and a lot of alcohol. The banana gets lost but after it warms I got some whiffs of it.
The feel is very smooth, slick and easy. Despite the alcohol taste there is no alcohol feel or burn.

Cigar City Brewpub's Banana Cream Pie Dark Ale. A collaboration with Angry Chair Brewing served on-tap at the release party on 9/25/2013...
Pours a somewhat hazy orange/brown with litte or no head. The aroma of bananas is present but not over the top. Undertones of vanilla can be picked up as well. Tastes much like it smells with a delicate creamy finish. A bit thin for my liking but overall really quite good. I was expecting an chewy ale resembling a banana smoothie and was pleasantly surprised as this exceeded my expectations.
The coconut variant served at the release was pretty amazing. A mix of Brewers Brunch Stout and Banana Cream Pie was also served. Chocolate and Bananas? Amazing, almost stole the show in my opinion...
Kudos and well done to CCBrewpub and Angry Chair...
