Hate to be the first reviewer with my experience. The place wasn't quite as swanky as I had anticipated it being. Not that it's not nice. It is nice. Just not as much of a lounge as I expected. Much more of a restaurant than a lounge as I had expected it to be.
The bartender was nice enough. He informed my buddy not to buy their cigars as they were really old and dry. That was cool of him. He didn't seem to know much at all about beer though. They had several COOP offerings including the Russian Imperial Stout and I couldn't believe that the COOP beer was an imperial. The alcohol was hidden so well in it. It was deceptive. I asked the bartender if he knew what the alcohol content on the stout was because I assumed it would be more noticeable as an imperial and he started in telling me how it's a misconception that stouts are a higher alcohol content than other beers....bla, bla, bla. I was like - that's not at all what I'm asking. Basically, he didn't know much about the beer they were selling.
Otherwise it was a really nice place to hang out. Their prices were extremely high. I heard a couple of people buy some Sam Smiths and they got hit with about $7 or $8 each on them and I don't think those were the big bottles. I had two of the COOP stouts and my friend had a scotch and two gin and tonics for a bill of $46. They have an extensive scotch selection and he must have bought a really expensive one I guess. A bit too rich for my blood.
