This beer came looking dark and foreboding as it appeared to be perfectly black in the dim lighting of this nice brewpub. Virtually no head, but good lacing down the glass. It had a very smoky smell to it and it tasted smoky as well. Full of chocolate and cocoa with a light hint of coffee. I am probably giving this brew a bit higher marks than I normally would because I drank most of it against the backdrop of a very tasty and spicy fetuccini dish that craved a strong drink to balance its strong taste. This stout held up to the flavor challenge.
