Type: English bitter.
Color: Dark Brown with haze.
Body: Very lightly carbonated, served room temperature.
Head: Thick off white, almost caramel color. Lingered and left an excellent lace.
Taste: Fantastic taste. The bourbon barrels really gives it a nice flavor. Bitter almost the whole way through and I loved it!
Aroma: Hoppy, malty with caramel.

Clocking in at 7% ABV, Ex-Wife Extra Bitter is really a hearty bitter ale. This is definitely loaded with hops and served very well at room temperature. You can't find this beer in 12 oz or 22 oz bottles, just growlers. So that means you actually have to go to Run Of The Mill and try the Ex-Wife Extra Bitter beer. I love cask conditioned ales and this one really trumped them all. If you are in the Southern Maine region than swing by Run Of The Mill. Their food alone will keep you there.

Cheers!

My first time at The Run of the Mill. Very happy to see that they had a cask selection. Served in a pint glass, the beer was a medium brown color with a thick white head that left plenty of lacing. It had a faint caramel malt aroma. The sweet caramel came through a little better in the taste, and there was a nice hops presence. An enjoyable beer.
