Served in a snifter glass.
Appearance: Thin black body with a subtle tan head which rose initially to a notch under a finger's length coming off a tan color. Head drops to nada after one sip with no lacing.
Smell: Hints of whiskey and mocha...you need to let it warm so it's potency increases.
Taste: Like the smell just a little better, malty though..coffee tones and notes of whiskey.
Mouth: Medium to heavy carbonation, stickiness is a bit on the average.
Overall: Good brew, really enjoyed it. There are some better options that exclude the barrel aging but depends how deep you want to dig in your pocket.
Salud!

A bit aqueous. Barrel aging is VERY subtle, almost nil on the nose and a slight oak on the mouth. Clears the mouth very quickly, no lingering... no longing. I picked up this beer with great expectations, but much like most of my collegiate escapades... meh.

Reviewed from notes dated 1-7-15 from a visit to the brewery...
Black body; creamy, thick, tan head. Aroma of charred grains; hints of sweet chocolate. Cocoa and milk chocolate flavors; excellent bitterness blending wit a deep, rich malt sweetness. Medium-to-heavy body; semi-dry; velvety feel.
Dark, rich, complex with luxurious malt sweetness; well-balanced.
