Clear, reddish copper color; sparse carbonation; thin, wispy head that soon devolves to a thin, light khaki hued ring, long-lasting appearance. Fantastic nose of roasted hazelnuts, mildly charred toffee, subtle underlying bitterness. Full-bodied mouthfeel; smooth and rounded; semi-sweet character with a soft warmth at the finish.
Other than a dull appearance, this Oktoberfest sytle märzen is a killer in all other aspects. The deep, rich color, a taste exuding Fall-like meal qualities, and a fantastic mouthfeel easily make this a fine representation of a classic German beer style.
