Golden color. Medium-sized, white head. Lemon, vanilla, and wood in the aroma. Same notes flow into a sour taste. Balanced and gentle wild beer. Nothing crazy.

Vintage 2021. Poured from 750 mL bottle into tulip.
A: Pours a clear lemon yellow hue with active carbonation jets fueling a 1 inch bubbly white head with decent retention.
S: Tart and sour lemon with soft oak and vanilla elements.
T: Bright and bracing tart lemon, sour citrus, and toasted oak with vanilla help balance in the background. With warming the vanilla note becomes more pronounced and a mineral note emerges.
M: Super light body. Effervescent, bright, and refreshing. Tart, sour, and sweet citrus. Lingers nicely on the palate. Excellent balance.
D: Lovely complex summer sipper! Nice oak-aged sour wild ale.

A: slight haze; the color of peach or apricot nectar; with an aggressive pour, virtually no head; what was there was gone in seconds, leaving a very thin ivory collar; no lacing;
S: funky lemon;
T: slightly funky throughout; up front, the lemon dominates; from the middle through the finish, vanilla is dominant; the aftertaste is a nice balance between the two; mildly sweet at the start; moderately tart on the finish; didn't get any oak character;
M: light to medium bodied; low carbonation; moderately dry finish;
O: very nice complexity in the flavor;

DATE: February 6, 2021... OCCASION: picking the EBF back up at home on Day Two... GLASSWARE: Lindemans stem... pours a muddy, lazily bubbled, iced tea-colored body--light brown, with a slur of white surf at one end... a creamy sweetness with a tart lemon that promises to be a citrusy treat... a harsh, textured body, effervescent at the start with a ping of that lasts and lasts--mouth-watering juiciness, its finish is woody, mega-dry, and lingering.... cracker, toasted oat, big lemon, vanilla--not lactose, though--with secondary citrus and pineapple...tart, yes! heat at the end, but not from the ABV%... I'm not a pie eater, but Tomme doesn't like it either, so I feel vindicated that we both appreciate the flavors of this beer... the woody finish gives it an aged feel--another dimension for a flavorful dessertif..

Peach colored body with virtually no head. Very nice aroma: lemon, honey & vanilla. Sweet & tart. Flavors: lemon, vanilla & wood char that tastes like a graham cracker crust- just a bit woody. Mouthfeel is slightly thin. Overall, a delicious lemon meringue pie.

A little sour, but quite refreshing. My first experience with The Lost Abbey, but hopefully not my last. Looks pleasant, has a nice aroma, feels good in my mouth.

This beer really does have a lemon meringue vibe to it. Nice tart lemon, crackers malt, and creamy vanilla. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a flavorful sour with a robust lemon flavor.

Pours like ginger ale, in color and with a vibrant carbonation. White foam head settles fast. Smell is alot like lemon Pledge cleaner. Very citrusy aroma. Tastes like a lemon pie; specifically a lemon Hostess pie. Some bready notes of the wild yeast actually make it taste cake-like, before giving a tartness. Slight vanilla flavor as well, and I do get a feel for the oak aging in both the initial sip as well as the finish.
This is s a very well made ale that showcases the merits of barrel aging, using wild yeast to make a beer more complex without tasting like vinegar, and complimenting with flavors. Would certainly recommed.

Murky dark gold pour, no head. Super fresh and sweet lemon curd with oak, vanilla, and graham cracker fills the nose. Super simple yet super pleasant. Taste is more lemonade like than anything with the acidity and lemon leading, oak and vanilla linger in the background. Feel is thin and ending is void of character besides acidity and light oak, light sourness, missing definition to really sell the vision.

Great if you like sours. It was too tart and lemony for my palette, but I liked it in small doses and sips. It was smooth and had a clean feel. If you like tart wild ales, this is a good choice
