1,5 liter brown PET bottle, with a Norwegian label, as Tervete Baltika Kwas, from an immigrant's store in Jørpeland. ABV is not mentioned on the bottle, but the kwas is brewed on malts and naturally fermented. Very dark brown, nearly black, pours sparkling with a shortlived tan head. Aroma of black rye bread, with a hint of caramel. Moderate carbonation in the mouth. Medium sweet flavour with notes of sugar, caramel, prunes and dark rye bread. Fairly drinkable.

first kvass rating on beeradvocate, although i have had kvass before. i am currently in riga, so no better time to try and rate kvass. hard to rate it as beer though; it’s more of a soft drink to me, but this is damn nice, malty and nutty and fruity. would recommend.
