Served on-tap in a sleek footed clear pint glass at Fry Spring Station (Charlottesville, VA).

A: Clear golden with a crisp 1/2-1-finger white foamy head with decent retention but no lacing.

S: The aroma is light and grainy. This does not have the aroma of a lager -- it is grainy but toasted with more citrus.

T: The flavor is above average with a nice toasted grain maltiness and light citrus Cascade-type of hoppiness.

M: The feel is surprisingly full of body for the ABV. The carbonation is lighthanded whcih works well to keep this from feeling too light.

O: Not a bad quick pint with a good feel and pretty good flavor profile. It does not really create anything great, don't get me wrong, but it does sit in good stead as a light ale.

Light, on tap at Jefferson St. Brewing Company, as part of a tasting flight. This review is a few months old, but I'm just now catching up on my backlog from this particular period.

Appearance: Arrives a crystalline clear, straw yellow with no head of which to speak, capped merely by a thin ring of white lace and wisps, the only remnants of what I would imagine from the height of the liquid was a head about a finger tall. A few streams of fast, crisp carbonation race towards the wreckage, and splashes of runny lacing dot the sides of the glass.

Aroma: Marked by an incredibly faint, pale malt sweetness, very simple, with perhaps a few bright fruit esters and the slightest of hop twinges, emphasis on "slightest."

Taste: Tastes ... light, if that's a surprise. A bit of cornyness accompanies a pale, hollow hop note, some pilsner sweetness, a few slightly biscuity flashes, and yeast overtone.

Mouthfeel: Moderate to thinly bodied, with a mild amount of embedded carbonation for a surprisingly even beer - as far as light beers goes, not too bad.

Drinkability: Is it drinkable? Yes. Do I want to drink it? Not particularly. It's a palatable light beer, to be sure, but it's lacking in flavor and aroma, and even a solid mouthfeel can't make up for something that doesn't taste good.
