Whether you are sitting on a dock watching the waves crash against the rocks, or just imagining yourself there, we have the perfect beer for you!

Lazy Waves Hazy IPA is inspired by some of our favourite West Coast hops that define the style, this Hazy IPA is double dry-hopped to give aromas of peach, citrus and tropical fruit. A soft mouthfeel is balanced with a hint of bitterness for maximum drinkability.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. My first beer from the Peterborough, Ontario brewery.

473 mL can from the LCBO; no discernible packaging date. Served slightly chilled.

Pours hazy and translucent, its golden yellow-hued body topped with just over an inch of soapy white head. Several minutes later, it has been reduced to a frothy collar and patchy cap, with a modest ring of lace adhering to the glass - looks normal enough so far. I'm getting grapefruit, stone fruit and passion fruit on the nose, with hints of berries and floral hops.

The flavour profile is similar - tropical fruit and citrus, with peach also figuring in strongly. Grapefruit, passion fruit, floral hops and melon are also present, concluding with a moderately bitter, earthy & resiny finish; the resiny/earthiness persists into the aftertaste. Medium-full in body, with average carbonation that adds the barest semblance of crispness to this brew's smooth, soft mouthfeel. Easy enough to toss back.

Final Grade: 3.54, a B grade. KLB Lazy Waves is a passable pale ale, but I don't think it'll move the needle much for most IPA loving beer geeks. Despite its visual haze, this brew doesn't actually have a whole lot in common with the modern prototypical "hazy IPA" - however, the description on the label references West Coast hops, indicating that they weren't going for a juicy hazebomb in the first place - maybe more of a hybrid? Sadly, even when analyzed through the lens of a WCIPA, I don't think it comes off as much better than average. I'll give this another shot at some point, but for now I'm happy to file it under 'meh'.
