Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden. Pours clear golden yellow with a one and a half finger tall white head, quickly dissipating down to a thick film, leaving sticky webs of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell of light grape must and the farmhouse saison yeast up front quickly being joined by the grassy and herbal hops, light sweetness and some lightly toasted pale malt. Taste is along the same lines with the grape and saison portion running neck and neck with the bitter hops and doughy grains. Slick, bitter feel goes down pretty easily.
Overall an ok farmhouse IPA. I get a small amount of grape and it plays pretty well with the hops and saison yeast but it never really wowed me . Worth the try if you like these kind of hybrid beers.
