16oz can into a pint glass. Shared with s-I-l Greg. And thanks to Nick for the gift. Canned 10/18/22, so a month old.
Brewed in collaboration with Breaker Brewing in Wilkes-Barre Pa.
From the can "Fruit Beer brewed with pizza sauce, tomatoes, smoked malt, and fresh basil".
Okay then.
Looks pretty good. Faintly hazy yellow body. Bright white head eventually disappears, light lacing early on.
The strongest, perhaps only, aroma is of fresh basil. And...it's pretty good.
On tasting, again the basil is the strongest flavor, but you do get the feel of a fresh baked pizza. Smoked malt is absent though.
Mouth between medium and full, finish light and herbal.
Overall, this one had me a little nervous. And it's certainly unique. But, it's well made, and a pretty good beer.
