Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden.
A - Pours light golden yellow with a nice one finger tall white head leaving small streaks of lace down the glass. A beautiful looking beer.
S - Smells of bready wheat, pale grains, lemon zest, banana, and some very light clove spice. This one lacks some of the traditional aroma's for a Hefe but still smells pretty good.
T - Plenty of wheat initially slowly giving way to a mix of lemons, clove, pale grain, earthy hops, and some banana. This one still doesn't have all the typical flavors of a Hefe but it still had plenty going for it to keep me interested till the finish.
M - Medium-Light body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Nice light feel combines with the low ABV. to make this one very drinkable.
O - A decent enough wheat beer but I actually love the watermelon version of this so much more.

A 1L growler, filled on Friday. Happy New Year.
A: The hefe is light, a golden color that verges towards the paler straw end of the spectrum. Definintely unfiltered, a mild haziness settles itself over the ale. A small band of white head precariously hangs on the sides of the glass.
S: Wheat and phenols stand out. The wheat is grainy with a mild lemon aroma. The phenols are bubblegum and banana. The aromas waft out of the glass and travel far, reaching me from the side table.
T: More clove in the taste, anisey. The ale also brings more wheat, a tarter aspect. Mid-sip a medicinal flavor pops up unexpectedly before disappearing. Banana comes up later in each sip, pushing away that medicinal aspect. Grains last, breadiness with just a faint phenolic sweetness.
M: Drinkable, low on alcohol, and another step in the right direction for Pizza Boy.
