On tap at the brewpub. Serviceable saison. Peppery aroma. Cloaves. A little lace. So-so drinkability. 7% not felt over spices, but a little more than I would ideally like. As a house wine is nothing special, but Ok with a meal, so too this.Carbonation is right there.

Had on tap at Lakewood's Beer Engine, poured into a snifter. Pours a darker amber color, with a 1/2" head that slowly reduced.

Smells of apples and orange blossom honey, with pleasant floral notes.

Tastes tart and crisp, with fruity apple, mild spice, honey, and a slight herbiness. There's a bit of lemon In the aftertaste that, along with the slight herbaceous flavor, remind you that this is a Saison.

Medium bodied, with a sharp tartness that hits the front to mid tongue.

A decent brew, to be sure, but not one that I initially would have pegged as a Saison. The very definite apple flavor to this, while giving it a tart flavor, also sweetens it more than I would expect out of a Saison. Still, if you're at the Beer Engine, give this one a try.

Served on tap into a snifter at Buckeye Beer Engine

A- Poured a clear amberish orange with a one finger frothy head that left some chunky lacing.

S- Apple, citrus, yeast, and spice

T- Big apple notes, big spice notes, yeast, citrus, bubblegum, and quite a bit of bitterness

M- Crisp, dry, and refreshing

O- A very nice saison with big spice notes and more bitterness than I would have expected.

Brewed exclusively for Greenhouse Tavern, this beer was on tap at their East 4th street location. Enjoyed with some wonderful food! I guess Garin and Jon Sawyer made this to compliment the Greenhouse's fresh fare. It was a nice beer, just falling a bit short of others in the style. But here's the details:

Looks OK in the glass. Brownish gold in color with poor head retention/lace. The color and slight cloudiness were inviting but I like a saison with a rocky head a la Fantome.

Smells of yeasty esters and sweet malt. There's even a hint of slight tartness and wildness in the nose.

Tastes nice, some fruitiness like ripe apple and sweet grapes, bubblegum, white pepper, more candy sweet malt, and some dry esters on the backside. Nice and complex and accessible at the same time.

Mouthfeel was a tad undercarbed to me, but ok. Overall, I'll order this again at Greenhouse - it went very well with the great food!! Animal Frites for the win!!
