White Cap with raspberry. At the brewpub.
A: The fruit beer (actually a witbier) is light, a paler golden color. The raspberry addition adds only a minor tint of color.
S: The raspberry is most appealing in the nose, a light fresh aroma that is immediately noticeable. The lightness of the wheat beer, mildly spiced, aids the raspberry.
T: Raspberry is present, but only the in subtlest, lighest sense. Rather than driving the flavor of the beer, it serves as an apperitif, setting the palate up for the spicy wheat. That tartness of the wheat pairs nicely with the fruit, although the typical witbier spices don't stand out as much.
M: A refreshing ale, the wheat alone doing yeoman's work. Add the raspberry essence, and that's really all it is, and you have an excellent summer ale.
