Copenhagen 1/9 2019. 37,5 cl bottle with a cork cap and inside a round box. Purchased at Many, Borups Allé, Frb. F. La Trappes usual Quadrupel design in purple and black.
Pours murky maroon with a small off-white head. Very bubbly and the head disappears almost immediately. Leaving what looks like a de-carbonated glass of Cola behind. No lacing.
Aroma is potent, sweet and with a strong presence of alcohol. Sweet caramel brown sugar, dark fruits saturated in alcohol. The oak peeks gently in with hints of whisky. a bit overshadowed by the sweetness.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, sticky, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is heavy sweet followed by a very moderate sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is strongly sweet and a bit boozy. Lingering.
Potent very sweet, oak-aged Quadrupel. Fortunately there are a lot of batches to go.
