Copenhagen 4/4 2020. 37,5 cl corked bottle from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. La Trappe's usual label design in Quadrupels classic purple version.
Pours murky, amber brown with a small off-white head. Settles as 0,3 cm thick layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is intense, sweet and boozy with a strong odor of wood. Cane sugar, caramel, oak, dark alcohol and wood glue. Light yeasty odor of humid basement lurking in the background.
Medium strong carbonation. Medium thick, oily, lightly tingling texture. A little sticky.
Flavor is intense with a heavy sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a lighter bitter undercurrent. Lingering. Boozy and woody finish.
An Oak agen La Trappe where I can taste the wood and the vinous touch.
