Copenhagen 14/11 2019. 37,5 cl corked bottle from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. La Trappes usual design for the Quadrupel (purple). Comes in a little round box.
Pours murky maroon with a red hue and a small off-white, yellowish head. Disapperars after seconds leaving a thin patch of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is intense, malty sweet and vinous. Brown sugar, Caramel, light sweetish odor of Calvados, oak, vinous sourness. Alcohol.
Light carbonation. Medium thick oily, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is very sweet followed by a moderate but distinct bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and laden with alcohol. Light bitter undercurrent. Lingering. Lightly burning, boozy finish.
Nice barrel aged brew with a clear vinous edge and a fine boozy burn.
