Poured from tap into Belgian Matilda style glass...at standard tap philly.
Pours a hazy brown with a slight orange hue. Not much head or lacing.
Really nice funk aroma here. Nice barnyard fruity banana funk...dare I say reminiscent of fantome...maybe just hoping...
Anyway..
Nice hoppy spicy peppery flavor. A bit sweet malt and caramel. Nicely dry and good carbonation. Really a great saison. Seems true to the style just a taaad sweet. And could use a hair more funk but an awesome brew nonetheless. Well worth a try.

A - Hazed deep amber, small white head has little retention and lacing.
S/t - Farmhouse funk, lemon peel, with an underlying sweet and tart cherry taste throughout.
M - A little heavy with a medium/full feel. Delicate carbonation that falls a little flat on the back end
O - A little two dimensional with the yeast funk and sweet/tart cherry flavors, but it works for a nice drink. Abv hidden well.

On tap at Iron Hill West Chester for the Belgium Comes to West Chester Event.
Pours a somewhat muddy brown color with a light tan head. Decent retention and good lacing.
The nose has a nice bit of underlying earth and pepper. Some spicy dryness and faint bit of cherries and skin. Light tartness coming through. Flavor really nice with an underlying tartness throughout. Cherry character and some very light general fruitiness. Some spiciness in the background. Dark malt character helps carry things through.
Body is medium with good carbonation. Lightly tart finish. Smooth body. Quite nice.

Pours a nice, consistent copper color with a strong white head that seems to float over the body. The taste is very complex. There are stronger hints of sour, particularly of tart cherries, than in most farmhouse's. has a bit of a merlot or cabernet type aftertaste for the wine lover. A bit chewy but far less so than other farmhouse's. I am not a real fan of the style but Sly Fox did a great job with this and I'd love to try it again.
