Picked up a 16 oz can from the Shangy's cooler while in Emmaus, PA on 9-23-25 for $3.33. Best by 8-3-25; consumed 11-22-25. Cold stored since purchase.

Beer poured gold with a very nice white head.

Not much to the nose, getting some crackers and perhaps a bit of floral hops as it warms.

Taste is nice, the light malt base is crackers forward whereas the hopping is herbal with a touch of lemon. Finishes with a nice black pepper bitterness; 6/10 on my scale.

Mouthfeel is light bodied, smooth and refreshing.

Overall, considering the age of this brew, it is still very flavorful. Nicely done to style.

I tried this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a four sample flight whilst in Pittsburgh for work. It poured a slightly hazy golden with thin white ring head that is leaving some lace. The scent had bold grain notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with semi sweet malt base with grain presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

Pours an effervescent gold with 2 fingers of eggshell colored head. Average-ish head retention & lacing

S: Grassy & soapy hops, some bready notes

T: Breadyness, grassyness, dryness & a kiss of lemons up front. Bready sweetness & dryness as this beer warms up, hints of green apples, & grassyness as well. Finishes dry with grassy hops & a little lemon & lime

MF: Medium body, fairly firm carbonation, good balance

Pretty solid Pils, easy to drink

Just below average carbonation and body but adds up to an overall nice feel.
Aroma is malt, citrus peel and fruit along with buckwheat honey
Taste is an odd but pleasant mix of mild sweetness along with an earthiness.
There's buckwheat grain and honey
Overall its a nice flavorful easy to get down beer.

Sampling a cold 16 oz can poured into my pils glass. Date stamp is best before 7/22/2023. My can is Pirates colors, picked up at a beer store in Harrisburg area.
The beer pours a slightly hazy golden color with a thin bleached white surface cap of .5cm. This foam fades to a thin edging very quickly after the pour. There are no active carbonation streams rising from the bottom of my glass. Longer head retention would bump up my score here.
the aroma is a bit of sweeter grain and also a good dose of floral hops and some spicy notes. No hint of ABV here.
First sip reveals a light body and fine gentle carbonation. Very smooth and easy to drink beer.
Flavor is a bit of grain and honey, sweeter than I thought it would be. This moves to some cracker and finishes with dry and biting black tea and spicy hop notes. never any hint of ABV here either. A nice easy drinking beer.

(16 oz can; best by 08/07/22; purchased cold single at Clayton Liquors... poured into a 14 oz mug)

L: yellow-gold liquid, slight haze sans dregs; very little foam or retention of on pour... virtually no collar... clouds up a little once last 2 oz are added; foam still collapses quick

S: malty and bready (golden crust); slight seashore brine undertone?!... its grassy overtone gives a fresh zesty snap to its edges, inviting

T: quite punchy upon first sip, stealth hop bite, which lightly lingers in the aftertaste, but definitely dips after a short swell during the finish... doughy bready malt for days; grassy, mildly pithy-zesty bitterness

F: body/texture seems a bit shapeless, despite a subtle plump swell up front; then again, the carbonation turned out weak... gets a touch taxing to swill halfway through

O: actually relatively flavorful, bold expression... I'd gladly grab a 4 pack if headed to a cook out or carnival (1898)

16oz can courtesy of Jonphisher. Per the stamp on the bottom, this is "best by August 7, 2022." Per the label, this is an unfiltered pilsner. Incidentally the label says this was brewed in Pottstown, not Phoenixville.

Poured into a dimpled mug, this was a chill-hazed golden amber color, with a fluffy, off-white head. Definitely looks unfiltered.

Floral, spicy and herbal hop scent. A little bit bready smelling, as well.

Taste is similar to the nose, except a little more lemony. Finishes to the dry side of crisp.

A little heavy bodied for a pils. Fairly dry, crisp mouthfeel.

Nice beer, a bit more herbal and bitternthan I expected, but not tonthe point of being a deal breaker. I'd hit it again. Thanks, Jon!
