Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. brandy snifter glass
Price: $11.99
From: Wilbur’s Total Beverage in Fort Collins, Colo.
Purchased: May 8, 2021
Consumed: Aug. 13, 2021
Misc.: Canned on Jan. 15, 2021
Grabbed this and a few other stouts/lagers on a recent work trip to Fort Collins, Colo. Untappd description called it an “Imperial stout aged in Leopold Bros Maryland-style rye whiskey barrels with cinnamon and vanilla.”
Poured a pitch-black color with 1-to-2 fingers of khaki tan frothy-to-fizzy head. Pretty calm underneath but could still see a few bubbles coming up the glass. Good spotty lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled rye whiskey, oak, vanilla, cinnamon, caramel, toffee, chocolate and Churro. Not quite as good from the can. (Smell - 4.25)
First thought on the taste was hot damn it was smooth for 16.2 pct. ABV. In order got milk chocolate syrup, cinnamon, vanilla, rye whiskey, oak, caramel, toffee and Churro. (Taste - 4.25)
Full body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 5.00)
Such a great beer. Glad I got to try it. (Overall - 4.25)

Can from Rambo’s in Estes Park.
Coca Cola like body with a fizzy head that fades within seconds, completing the soda like appearance. The nose brings bourbon, oak. Vanilla comes through in the flavor. Not too sweet and certainly not overdone.
Vanilla and cinnamon are both capable of dominating a beer and throw it out of balance. Here, the adjuncts are done gracefully. I can certainly appreciate that.
The aftertaste offers lingering woody character.
Medium bodied with just a prickle of carbonation.
Solid. Thumbs up!
