Sampled on tap at Hibernian in Cary.
This was described to me as a black IPA but I thought it was more of a hoppy stout. But as my glass emptied, I thought it was somewhere in between.
The aroma had a nice dose of floral and citrusy hops. The flavor had a fair amount of roasted malt and chocolate but it was balanced by hop flavor and bitterness. The bitterness lingered forever. The glass had a nice coat of lacing as it emptied.
This beer really grew on me. I decided to go back for a second. They said they had to change the keg and then came back and said it was gone.

On-cask at Rockfish Grill served in an 18oz tulip a deep murky brown with a thin diminishing head. Aroma is dark slightly roasted malts in front of subtle but present pine hops. The taste is a nice balance of pine hops, roasted malts and a hint of Belgian spice. The beer is very smooth, crisp and refreshing. This is a great beer that is even better on cask!
