200th Anniversary Blend (1822-2022)
Francisca Vandersmissen was born circa 1800 in Hof ter Kwadewegen in Vlezenbeek on a bed of hops and malt. The region's noble beer lineage flowed freely through her veins. Years later, her sparkling appearance captivated Joos Lindemans. In 1822, the young couple was wed and moved into the Vandersmissen farm brewery. Soon after, they began to brew the foaming gold we call Gueuze. Lindemans brewery was born.

Bottle from Whole Foods.
Outrageously good. Loads of deep, old funk with less of the classic Lindeman's citrusy brightness, and instead focusing on the deep, woody funk. Rotting wood, rotting lemons. Mildly earthy. The old lambic is so refined here, with layers of flavor. Oily preserved lemons, soft oak yet vibrant. White wine notes. Gorgeous stuff, the alcohol is so well hidden too.

(Bottle, 0.75l, from Alko, 20250124) The beer poured deep golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had sourness, wood, honey and lightly fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were tartness, sourness, honey, fruitiness, wood and bitterness. Aftertaste had wood, tartness and bitterness. A delicious blend of tartness and malts.

Cellared 2 years. Reddish copper body, white head with bands of lacing. Aromas of pungent apple, sour oak, balsamic, sweet grape, mild hay and barnyard funk. Taste has leading tones of apple, dark cherry, lemon, in a sour and decently acidic way, mild barrel funk, honeycomb and hay, complex though unconventional. Light and more sour, acidity adds up slowly. Sweeter for the style, but well made

pretty special blend for their 200th anniversary, and for anyone who talks smack about these guys for making lambic that is too sweet and not woody or funky or mature enough, you need to get you lips on this beauty! it is exceedingly well developed, funky, and wild, its tart, dry, strong, and interesting, quite a bit more abv in this than we usually see in the style, and its a beer that to me can compete with just about any gueuze out there, so thankful to have scored a bottle of this, it is drinking absolutely wonderfully right now, to the extent that i will be seeking more, really impressive! deep color to it and some obvious body, a little more substantial than anticipated, not quite into copper colored but certainly dark bassy, a little haze to it, short lived head but a lot of bubbles as i drink it. nose of familiar lambic funk, less familiar from these guys, but familiar nevertheless, aged hops for sure, raw unmalted wheat yes, oak and bretty weirdness check. a little floral honey sweetness and deeper bready malt character, almost a red wheat or a longer cooked wheat vibe, hull and husk in aroma and flavor, minerals, sweet citrus. in the flavor there is a touch of oxidation which i like in the style, just a bit of the alcohol peaking through, white wine and neat old woodiness, more puck than most of their beers have, but not super super sour, some dustiness to it which adds intrigue, true horsey character, golden raisin, sauternes, hay, and white pepper. nice body on this, fuller for sure, soft feeling even with the acid, definite lemon late, really neat wild yeast funk on it, very polished at the end. i like this being as mature as it is, there could be some pretty old lambic in this blend, and i like the complexity overall. cool that its a little stronger, it warms up super well too, and this was regal and worthy and celebratory, a fun one to share and one i hope to encounter again, one of their best and definitely one that will cellar nicely!

Some lemon, lots of oak, lots of minerality. Grapefruit citrus. Dusty books and wet basement. Little funk. White wine notes. Pretty complex for a lindemans blend. I can see why 3f uses their good stuff. This is really nice. Up there with the good 3f. 4.35

Congratulations to Lindemans on their 200th anniversary! It is good to know good things can endure.
Got this bottle from our local Total Wine.
Poured from a bomber into a tulip glass. Clear golden yellow color with fluffy white head and great curtain lacing. Smell and taste of slightly sour white grapes along with some green apple. Oak and some white pepper. Bit of citrus, lemon and even some lime. Rich, smooth feel. Crisp, refreshing, great summer beer. Great with BLTs!

Darker amber. Poured with tight off-white bubbles. Medium nose that was earthy with slight funk. Incredibly smooth and well-balanced. Very deep tannins and maltiness.

750 ml bottle, shared with my son, from Vinmonopolet Stavanger Verksgata. ABV is 8%. Golden colour, large white head. Lovely aroma of farmhouse / brettanomyces, aged white wine, oak and lemons. Moderate carbonation in the glass. Medium sour flavour of brettanomyces and oak.
