Lindemans Noir is a bold, strong fruit beer that captures the essence of mystery. Crafted from a unique blend of spontaneously fermented lambic and top-fermented Belgian strong ale, it draws its depth and complexity from blackcurrants, elderberries, and blueberries. With its deep maroon color and intense berry aroma, it invites you to explore a darker side of fruit. Here, elegance meets unexpected flavor.
Appearance - A deep maroon-hued mixed fermentation fruit beer, with hints of purple shadow, like twilight in a glass. Crowned with a silky head, it whispers of secrets yet to be revealed.
Tasting notes - Juicy and full-bodied, this strong fruit beer bursts with the rich flavors of dark berries — blackcurrants, elderberries, and blueberries — balanced by a lively acidity and a surprisingly smooth, dry finish despite its 8% ABV. The taste of Lindemans Noir is almost wine-like, with deep and complex flavors.
Our brewers’ secret - Lindemans Noir and d’Or opened a daring new chapter in our portfolio: our first high-alcohol fruit beers. Lindemans Noir is a mixed fermentation beer made from a unique blend of spontaneously fermented lambic and Belgian strong ale, enriched with deep dark fruits like blackcurrants, elderberries, and blueberries. Despite its high ABV, Lindemans Noir surprises with a smooth, juicy profile without any bitterness. And with less than 35 grams of sugar per liter, it remains beautifully balanced.

Pours a dark red color with a 1/2F head and light filmy lacing.
Smells and tastes of tart and sweet berries that combined come across like raspberries with a salty warm finish.
Medium light body with very light carbonation. Lightly syrupy mouthfeel.
I'm happy that I picked this brew up as a part of a make-your-own-six pack. Tasty, aromatic and nice change my typical barley and hops world.

Poured from 330mL bottle into a wine glass. Best by 4/10/27.
Appearance: kind of a dark coppery brown hue with a bit of haze and a finger of frothy tan foam atop.
Smell: very sweet with a dash of tartness and a rather earthy blueberry note. Kind of like forest fruit tea, which makes sense. It's not bad but the backsweetening seems a bit much.
Taste: very fruity, and with that tiny hint of sourness from the lambic blended in, it has a real earthy-fruit-juice vibe. It's super sweet, too, like a lot of Lindemans stuff.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: it has that sweet-tart thing going on, which I do like in a fruit beer, but it almost comes across as more of a wine cooler than a fine Belgian beer. And aside from the lightheadedness, it does hide the alcohol pretty well.

Sounds great. Looks great. Even smells pretty good. Unfortunately there is a weird sweet cardboard-y flavor that's hard to ignore (okay, impossible). Also, sour and funk are mostly lacking. Could have been so much better, really unfortunate IMO.

Pours a very dark, but not quite fully opaque, reddish brown. Moderate, ever so slightly pink, foam fades quickly but leaves ample lacing. Unsurprisingly, given the description, the smell is remarkable mix of berry smells, like a fruit candy. The taste begins with the same intense dark berry flavor, joined shortly by the malty backbone of the strong ale. As the malt favor fades, it is replaced by the tart lambic sourness, which balances the berry flavor through to the end. The fruit lead gives the expectation of a syrupy feel, but the ample carbonation and sourness keep this is check. With the balanced feel and fruity flavors, this is a very easy beer to drink, especially given the ABV. Overall, it feels like the brewers were trying to create a "light" lambic, moderating the sourness with the admixture of strong ale. The wide range of scores reported seem to reflect a wide variety of expectations from this mix. To me, this is a good lambic, diluted by the strong ale, but a very tasty fruit/field beer, so I have scored it as such.

I was so excited when I saw this in the store. It ticked all the boxes for me. I just KNEW I would love it! Unfortunately it's not that good. I mean, it isn't a drain pour, but the flavor does not live up to this beer's pleasant aroma and appearance. Most important though is that it didn't seem lambic. It tasted more like a regular beer that someone stirred fruit juice into. I'm not saying it isn't made with lambic though - I'm sure it is. It's just not very pronounced. I bought a four pack of this, so convinced I was going to love it, but what to do with the remaining three? I'll eventually drink them and if my review needs to be updated I will do so.

Poured from a bottle into a chalice
Appearance – The beer pours a deep ruby red color with a tiny fizzy head of pink tinted foam. The head fades rather quickly, leaving wisps of lacing on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is sweet and heavy with lots of blueberry, current, and elderberry mixed notes of a candy sweetness. Along with these aromas comes an aroma of sour raspberry and a touch of green apple.
Taste – The taste starts out with a rather strong berry flavor, being a mix of raspberry, blueberry, and elderberry. At the same time there is a bit of sourness of a tart and sweet dark fruit candy along with some very light notes of apple cider vinegar and a bit of maltiness. As the taste advances more, dark fruit comes to the tongue, al while the sour and tart fade a tad leaving one with a lightly tart, dark fruity, and moderately sweet taste to linger on tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body is of moderate thickness and creaminess with a higher more effervescent carbonation level. For the dark fruit, sweet, and tart the feel is great making for a nice sipper.
Overall – A rather nice lambic. Would certainly do this one again.

FRom the small bottle, it pours a garnet color with a modest light pink head that diminishes to a pink ring. The nose gets a nice dark fruity scent with berry notes, followed by the mouth getting a tart flavor with a lingering berry flavor. Nice!

A beautiful looking beer, with garnet colored beer, with a pinkish-purple thin head.
It's got a nice tartness to it, with loads of dark fruit flavors.
It's got much more character than the regular fruit Lindeman's, but still mellow for a lambic on the twang.
It was good to try, but I don't see myself getting it again.

If you're familiar with Lindemans, then this will meet your expectations. If not, then expect a fruit beer masquerading as lambic, far more candy sweet than tart or sour. They are the Belgian equivalent of New Glarus' approach to wild ales, as a reference point for American audiences, with more emphasis on accessibility than excellence. That said, I would put this in the upper tier of their offerings, having a bit of complexity in the fruit composition. Still overly sweet, but candied rather than medicinal. An occasional dessert or aperitif, but nothing to be excited about.
