Lindemans Oude Gueuze Cuvée de l'Amitié is a limited edition lambic blend created exclusively for our fans in the USA. Its name roughly translates to 'Friendship Blend', an ode to the blending process that was a collaboration between the brewery, friends and customers from the United States. Cuvée de l'Amitié is a unique blend of three, five and six-year-old lambics aged in large oak foeders. It is a traditional Oude Gueuze with notes of green apple and elderflower. Each sip ends with a dry and sparkling finish, similar to fine champagne. Lindemans Oude Gueuze Cuvée de l'Amitié was recognized by Beer Connoisseur and Craft Beer & Brewing magazines for its exceptional flavor and presentation. Production was limited to 15,000 bottles, available in select US states.

Poured from a very colorful bottle into the test glass
A - Honey colored backdrop, nice clarity, vigorous cabonation. A quick to leave cap of tight white froth is replaced with active archipelagos.
S - Sweet malts, green apple peel, oak, lemon zest, yarrow. Wet straw, with some warming there is a leather element.
T - Fruity with apple, pear, and green grape leading the way, Second sip pulls in the oaky, earthy elements, white peppercorn, and peach offer a great push and pull.
M - Mildly acidic, full and round on the palate, pleasantly dry
O - A great suprise, I read a few reviews and happened across this at a local store, Color me impressed at the depth and range of flavors. As it has a best by of 2034 I will get a few for the basement

Notes via stream of consciousness: According to the label this is brewed exclusively for the United States, and is limited to 15,000 bottles. It's poured a hazy orange body beneath a short head of white that's immediately dropped to just a small island of whispy foam on the surface. Hundreds of very tiny bubbles can be seen rising within. In the nose it's loaded with oak, acidity, tart fruit, and Brettanomyces with some leather and wet straw. The taste bears out all of those notes. It's tart but not biting, kind of like a ripe Granny Smith apple, which also happens to be one of its main flavor components. There's also some sweeter apple (Fuji?), pear, orange, apricot, white grape, gooseberry, and lemon. Apart from the fruitiness there's still oak but it's not as strong as the aroma suggests, and the Brett gives it notes of leather, mineral-rich crushed stone, both dusty earth and mud, both wet and dry straw, and (forgive me for this) previously extremely dried wood that's now wet, and which is not oak - just old sun-bleached wood like you'd find on the side of a barn after a light rain. It's really nicely balanced between tartness, fruitiness, oak, and Brett character. The body is light and the carbonation is quite delicate but still present and subtly zesty in combination with the acidity. I'm seriously impressed, particularly as I've just recently rated several other gueuze and find this one to be remarkably refined and polished but also fully flavored. It's a great deal ($), and it's limited, so grab it while you can.

Very good geuze, still youngish with a 2034vsuggested date. Lots of sips for a long lunch. Some complexity. More tartness than deep geuze flavour. Worth the 22 usd at wegmans.

This one pours a golden slightly hazy yellow color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells like stone fruit, lemongrass, elderflower, grapefruit, and white wine.
This is surprisingly soft and well balanced for being a blend of three, five, and six year old lambic. I expected it to be much, much more acidic, but the sourness level is really restrained, with a pleasant effervescence running through the tartness. It’s oaky, and a bit fruity in a good way, with peach, grapefruit, green apple, and white grape, with a touch of herbalness as well, sort of like juniper, lemongrass, elderflower, that sort of thing.
This is light bodied, clean, and super drinkable for the style.
I’m really impressed that something this high quality was made for Wegmans.
