Pours clear amber color with a 1 finger off white head that faded and left good spotty lacing.
Smells of caramel, sweet malt, orange peel, citrus fruit, lemon zest, floral hops, herbs, grains and biscuit; just enough hops to keep this an American IPA nose, but just barely as it borders on English IPA style as well.
Tastes like it smells, with caramel, sweet malt, orange peel, light citrus hops, lemon zest, floral hops, herbs, toasted grains, toffee, pine cone or piney hops and biscuit; like the nose, it could go either way on the IPA style and is very basic and middle of the road. It tastes good and fresh, but there are no real exciting elements that jump out.
Mouthfeel is average and on the smooth side, with average carbonation, a medium body and a slightly bitter finish that was more grainy and malty than hoppy.
Average was used a lot in this review and that word sums up this brew.

A - Golden/copper, hazed, white head has great retention and good lacing.
S/T - Similar, with grapefruit flesh flavor/aroma up front. Sturdy caramel, bready malts mid-palate, finishing bitter with pine hops.
M - Medium body, ample carbonation, creamy consistency, prickly hops across the palate.
O - Pleasantly surprised with this American style offering from McKenzie's, where I tend to stick with their Belgian-styled beers.

Draft at The Boilermaker in Philadelphia, PA.
Pours a hazy dark amber color with golden yellow/orange edges and a two finger frothy white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Spotty lacing left behind.
Slight earthy aroma with grassy hay notes along with some light fruit and pale biscuity malts.
Medium bodied with tight carbonation that lingers throughout. Some earthy hops giving some spicy dry bitterness that's countered by pale malts, grass, straw and light fruit. Boring but drinkable.

Clear amber body; about one shade darker than their American Pale Ale. Decent cap of white foam; average retention; creamy looking lace that clings to the sides of the glass. The aroma doesn’t exactly jump out of the glass; instead there’s a light floral and herbal hoppiness alongside a biscuity malt note.
This one doesn’t really taste all that different from their pale ale; it’s a wee bit hoppier and more bitter but it’s too similar for my taste. Floral, earthy, and herbal hoppiness, hints of citrus, light biscuit malt presence, faint caramel sweetness. Balanced but a little bland. Slight lingering bitterness in the finish.
Medium light body, a bit on the fizzy side in terms of carbonation; detracts from the mouthfeel and robs it of any smoothness or creaminess. Dry finish. Pretty unexceptional.

Flavor follows with a strong caramel malt body, mildly sweet and chewy with potent grapefruit runs and citrus resin on the backend. Medium full body with strong carbonation. An adequate IPA.
