Draft offering at Old Forge. The brew appears a clouded, muddy brown with an off-white to tan colored cap that lasts with decent retention. A light swirl revives a finger back to the surface.
The smell hints initially with a spice of cloves and transitions to dark fruity quakity. A faint hint of chocolate grain is evident across the back with a mild scent of banana. Pretty typical example of the style.
The taste is yeasty with clove and some fruit upfront. Something along the lines of pears and apples come to mind with a hint of musty chocolate grain and bubnlegum to banana filing out the rest of the flavor void.
This is a medium bodied brew with a light level of carbonation. The alcohol is very well integrated and the arrangement of flavors is blended quite well. Overall, this is a pretty solid take on the style. It is worth checking out and one of the top 3 beers that ive gotten to try from this brewery.
