Pours a hazy marmalade hue. Quite effervescent. One and a half fingers of ivory white head top this beer, displaying decent retention and leaving minimal lace.

The nose is a slightly sour with blueberry custard, wet and musty wheat, clove, and fresh bread.

The notes of blueberry come in the form of a jammy, slightly sour taste that is pasted against a bigger musty wheat character, ending yeasty with subtle note of blueberry still prevailing.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with its bulk coming from the creamy feel. Good balance, and a good amount of carbonation. Easy to drink and best suited for a summer's day.

Overall, a decent offering from Garrison but by far their best. I think this highlights the diversity of beers they put out; from this blueberry wheat to their baltic porter and english barleywine. This beer has a time and a place, but for now I'll stick with their other seasonal offerings.

This year's Blueberry Wheat was released at the start of November, which I found a tad odd for a 'seasonal' wheat beer (I would have expected the summer months). Given the year round availability of another blueberry wheat beer, I had to pick up a few and do a comparison test.

Pours an amber color with a generous amount of head. Head steadily evaporates until there is a small ring around the top of the beer. Very minor lacing left on the glass.

Scent is lightly of blueberries and wheat. Slightly sweet. Reminds me somewhat of really good blueberry muffins.

Taste is primarily a bready flavor, with the blueberry staying in the background. Very dry finish. Still reminds me a bit of a blueberry muffin.

Overall, it is good enough to mix it up a bit, but not so good that I would pick it often over Garrison's Raspberry Wheat when in the mood for a fruity wheat beer.

341mL bottle from brewery into pint glass.

Pours something between amber and copper. Fairly clear, good bit of carbonation activity visible. Small white head fizzes away to a thin lacy haze on the surface of the brew.

Mild blueberry smell with some biscuit. Kinda like blueberry scones I guess. Some clove and pepper spice accenting.

The blueberry taste is surprisingly (and pleasantly) mild, blending nicely with the bread and biscuit wheat flavours. It's very light in the mouth, with some lively carbonation that brings the pepper and clove tastes to the finish. Clean and crisp. Dry, but not astringent on the finish.

Quite refreshing and quaffable. A good session beer for the summer months.

Picked up a single bottle at Bishops Cellar in Halifax, NS.

Appearance: Pours a clearish golden, slightly copper colour with a modest white cap dropping to a lacey layer.

Aroma: Sweet honey, blueberries, shredded wheat, floral hops, some citrus and even some carrots. Not as heavy on the blueberries as expected.

Taste: Fruity, and tasting of blueberries, but they are not dominant thankfully. That is a good way to ruin a brew. Here, they are definately there, but nicely balanced with other fruit flavours, hops and a little bit of wheat.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied, crisp, refreshing.

Final Statement: Finally a good blueberry ale! This is not cloying or dominated by blueberry flavour, just a refreshing, easy drinking summer ale.

Pours a medium orange-copper tone, slightly darker than I'd anticipated, and with a rather minuscule white head that nonetheless leaves some decent lacing. Dissipates quickly, leaving a small ring around the glass. Smell is quite fruity, lots of blueberries, no surprise there. Woodsy notes, and dry breadiness as well. In the background, light citrus and some spices like cloves and maybe parsley. Taste is dry upfront, lots of wheat, and then the spices hit. Sharp and bitter herbs take over and the fruits are almost lost in the shuffle. Blueberries are just a quick kiss before it finishes dry and clean. Mouthfeel is a bit flat, but still refreshing, and drinkability is good. Not a bad effort, another acceptable extract beer from Garrison.

Second of the flavored ales from Garrion and this one did not disappoint either..Garrison's at 2 for 2 with me on their flavored brews.

This one pours a beautiful bright orange-amber..smallish cap decent lace.

Aromas of biscuits and berries, some citrus peel notes.

Medium bodied, fair malt spine creamy mouth feel

Another wheat ale from this brewer that produces a biscuity-bready maltiness at the front then a tasteful rush of berry fruit is detected, then some spice...not cloying or overpowering or synthetic...finishes wet with biscuity aftertastes...very drinkable.
