An interesting cross between a Tripel, a Saison and a Bière de Garde.

This French saison beer pours a hazy amber body with very little head, leave it a minute and you would be forgiven for thinking this is a cloudy apple cider....not really inviting.
Aroma is pretty good, full of citrus and hops, think la chouffe and your in the same ball park.
Taste is also pretty good, not as tart as I was expecting given the appearance. You get that refreshing citrus sensation, still a little hoppy but backed with a flickering of honey.
It goes down pretty well, and the 7% abv is completely hidden. It does have a bit of artificial sweetness in the aftertaste, but it's one that draws you back for another quaff.
Overall, I really wanted this to be a belter, especially given the fairy on the label pouring a tankard of beer, but it just isn't.....another one of those 'ok' beers to add to my lost in the quest for perfection.
