On-tap at CCB's 'Fruit in the Room' event, this was the most unusual brew in the house.

A - It presents a clear-ish appearance, seemingly the color of strawberry lemonade, rather than a straw-golden hue. There is very little head or lace, but this beer doesn't look bad as a result, instead it looks unusual. Which, appropriately, it is.

S - The nose is as advertised. Notes of basil and lemon are readily available, and are joined by watermelon sweetness. There is no sense of hop in the aroma, and little malt, either.

T - This is one of the strangest taste experiences I have had with a beer. It is like the flip-side of the coin presented by Cave Creek Chili beer, in this case an intriguing gimmick. The beer has a pale-pils character discernible, and has a strong sense of sparkling mineral water (think Perrier or San Pellegrino.) The lemon-basil flavor gets a bit much toward the end, but it is generally tempered by a slight sweetness from the watermelon. If I were to tweak it, I would dial back some of the herbs and let a bit more fruit shine.

M - Thin, very thin, and lightly sparkling. Works well for what it is.

D - Due to my non-Western diet, I encounter strong herbal flavors as the hallmark of many dishes. So this beer was like the 'green smoothie' of beers, and I like it. If I were a 'Burger & Fries' kind of guy, this stuff might freak me out.
