Poured from a bottle into a shaker pint, the beer is a caramel coloring, slightly hazed, with a ton of carbonation throughout the body, and a foamy, frothy, clingy, off-white head. Aromas of cut grass and peppery hops forward, with tropical fruit and citrus notes to follow. Flavors are roasted and slightly bitter hops notes forward, followed by a sweet blend of caramel, pineapple, lemon, and melon. Very balanced and easy to drink, kept light by the carbonation. The aftertaste is richly sweet, with only enough bitterness to balance and keep from cloying. Smooth, slightly effervesced finish. Easy drinker.

A: Poured from the bottle into a Piraat tulip/snifter-type glass. Body is hazy orangey-amber with a small whitish head on top, which leaves behind some lacing.
S: Citrusy - think oranges - over modest malt foundation. Tea-like earthiness noted as well. Not terribly strong in the nose.
T: Floral hops, modest citrus (again, oranges come to mind, maybe mandarin oranges), plus an herbal quality is there as well. Finishes pretty clean, with lingering modest lemony bitterness.
M: Light to medium in heft, carbonation is pretty active.
O: Good, but nothing earth-shattering for an APA. I'm heading to Lake Placid tomorrow, will likely stop at the brewpub, and wouldn't be opposed to ordering a pint of this. An easy drinker and a solid APA.

Translucent rusty gold with a thin head. Earthy, wet leaves and bread crust aroma. Tastes like it smells. More akin to a lighter Shoals Pale Ale than a Summer session which is what I was expecting for some reason. Ok.

A very hoppy pale ale. Has a nice smooth even flavor throughout. There's a slight lemon finish on the end. Nothing unique stands out. I tried it side by side with their IPA but couldn't really find any major flavor profile differences other than that hint of lemon in this one. Had it from a bottle but poured into a lake placid pint glass. Its a beautifully hazy amber beer with an extremely creamy thick head. Smell was generic to that of most pale ales and contained no unique notes. Overall, a decent beer to have but nothing worth going out of your way to try. Lake Placid Brewery does have some great beers worth drinking but this one just seems like repackaging of one of their other pale ales....

Was not expecting this from Lake Placid, earthy, tropical, and pungent hops with a lighter body and clean citrus finish. The body is definitely light, but that makes it drinkable. If brewers could do more session IPA's in this fashion, I might buy more of them. Recommended

i love lake placid, i always have, they were one of the first breweries to really get me into craft back in the day, but sometimes a pale ale is just a pale ale, and it doesnt need to be made and made and made again by every brewery on the planet. as fine as this one is, there is little innovative about it, and although its fresh, the freshness of a beer should never be its best feature, something else should stand out more than its age, and here it sadly does not. there is a nice hop profile to this, most of the way to an ipa over a mellow pale malt grain base, but its not real distinct. i think its bold and crisp enough for four seasons in the adirondaks, and thats probably why they made it, but it contributes little on the grand scheme i think. i like the frothy bigger feel to it, and how quick it finishes, itll work for summer, but it really didnt present itself as a real inspired brew, which is not how i remember these guys at all..
